Changing Doctrine
Some people want to take scripture and make it into their own image…
A man who proclaimed himself a bible teacher reads scripture and follows the parts that promote Jesus as a great teacher and a wonderful man. But the verses that shows Jesus as not only the Son of God, but God Himself, this man rejects completely. Showing him how the bible teaches us that Jesus is not only a great man but as the Creator Himself. His response was that is a lie.
John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. Again Matthew 1:22 So all this was done that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the Lord through the prophet, saying: 23 “Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and bear a Son, and they shall call His name Immanuel,” which is translated, “God with us.” That doesn’t say Great Teacher.
I come across another man who is teaching that Jesus was a vegetarian. How anyone would prove that is beyond me. A real problem with that one is Christ participated in the passover, but the passover meal includes lamb.
And that we should head a A CALL TO REJECT PAULIANITY AND RETURN TO ESSENE NAZARENE CHRISTIANITY. These words are directly from his article. In it he says that Jesus was a part of the Nazarene Sect. But truth tells us that Jesus was called a Nazarene because He was from that village. Not because He belonged to a sect.
I am sorry but I keep seeing so many Christians who start their biblical studies and tend to want to get back to their Jewishness. We are not Jews! We are gentiles who have been grafted in. If you personally want to follow such things, be my guest. It should be understood that it’s not a bad thing to want to worship as Judaism shows. Although what can be missed is the fact that we are saved by grace and not our works. Just don’t tell me I’m not right with God if I don’t copy you. Scripture is clear that certain things are mandatory for us. Acts 15:19 Therefore I judge that we should not trouble those from among the Gentiles who are turning to God, 20 but that we write to them to abstain from things polluted by idols, from sexual immorality, from things strangled, and from blood, and most importantly what Jesus commanded us in Matthew 28:18
And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit: 20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
I do believe that certain things should be followed, like maybe passover of some sort because Christmas as it is celebrated is mostly a commercial venture and pagan in many ways. Also Easter is corrupted because of the pagan influences. Like the egg which is a fertility ritual. And some things observed are from the worship of Ishtar in ancient Babylon. Be wise about it but use your own judgment.
A person can look for all sorts of outside influence to get “closer to God” but in all truth, He is in the Scriptures and Paul was very clear that anyone teaching another gospel was condemned.
Please stop trying to get to a ‘Higher Consciousness’ which has it’s roots in ancient Babylon and remember, every time we search after these things we have to be careful because Satan is in the details.
I truly love the body of Christ but I am so very tired of people trying to corrupt it. If you want to be closer to Him,
1. Study and Pray
2. Fulfill the great commission and make disciples
I was looking at this ‘Essence Christianity’ and this is what they profess,
and as you can see what they teach is in direct contrast to true Scripture
I was blocked from a persons friend list because I questioned this teaching!
I put their answers at the end of each sentence.
1. Salvation is dependent on following the saving teachings of Jesus * YES
2. Salvation is dependent on belief in the sacrificial death of Jesus on the Cross * NO
3. Belief in reincarnation in the context of a cosmic school system * YES
4. Based on this life only, you will either go to heaven
(if you believe in Jesus’ sacrificial death) or will burn in hell for eternity * NO
5. Teachings based on the words of Jesus * YES
6. Teachings based on the ideas of Paul * NO
7. Use a New Testament with many more words of Paul than Jesus * NO
What a Christian should get from the information above is no different then when we come across any other break away denomination. Like the Way International, Mormonism, Jehovah Witnesses, etc. Anytime someone takes basic accepted doctrine and twists it to make it into a leaders image they are in danger.
Remember what Paul warned us about.
Galatians 1:6 I marvel that you are turning away so soon from Him who called you in the grace of Christ, to a different gospel, 7 which is not another; but there are some who trouble you and want to pervert the gospel of Christ. 8 But even if we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel to you than what we have preached to you, let him be accursed. 9 As we have said before, so now I say again, if anyone preaches any other gospel to you than what you have received, let him be accursed. 10 For do I now persuade men, or God? Or do I seek to please men? For if I still pleased men, I would not be a bond servant of Christ.
One last point if someone doesn’t see things exactly as you do, if it doesn’t change doctrine. Please don’t pick a fight or be disrespectful.
We have only one Savor and mediator between man and God. Jesus, the Word of God and creator of all things. John 1:1-3
