Satan

Satan

Many Bible verses speak about him. God is clear that Satan has been a liar from the beginning, and that evil is his way… It is said that he is the most beautiful of all created beings, and that he fell because of pride. Isiah 14: 12 “How you are fallen from heaven,
O Lucifer, son of the morning! How you are cut down to the ground,
You who weakened the nations! 13 For you have said in your heart:
‘I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God;
I will also sit on the mount of the congregation On the farthest sides of the north; 14 I will ascend above the heights of the clouds, I will be like the Most High.’

Satan has done many things to try and destroy God’s plan. In the Garden he used pride to trick them. Now the serpent was more cunning than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made. Genesis 3:1 And he said to the woman, “Has God indeed said, ‘You shall not eat of every tree of the garden’?”2 And the woman said to the serpent, “We may eat the fruit of the trees of the garden; 3 but of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God has said, ‘You shall not eat it, nor shall you touch it, lest you die.’4 Then the serpent said to the woman, “You will not surely die. 5 For God knows that in the day you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.”

Then God said to Satan All the days of your life. 15 And I will put enmity
Between you and the woman, And between your seed and her Seed;
He shall bruise your head, And you shall bruise His heel.” ** This was actually a prophecy. It tells us that Satan would kill Jesus and one day Jesus would destroy him. Jesus was crucified on the cross and one day Satan will be thrown into the Lake of Fire. The reason for the flood was because again through his evil intentions, Satan devised a plan to corrupt the DNA of humans. The angels known as the watchers came to earth and had sex with the daughters of man. The plan was to corrupt the seed of man and make it impossible for God’s plan to work. But as we all know, nobody can defeat the plans of God.

These are only a few of the verses about the evil one, but it gives you the idea.
1 Corinthians 7:5 Do not deprive one another except with consent for a time, that you may give yourselves to fasting and prayer; and come together again so that Satan does not tempt you because of your lack of self-control.

1 John 3:8 He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil.
2 Corinthians 11:3 But I fear, lest somehow, as the serpent deceived Eve by his craftiness, so your minds may be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.
Acts 5:3 But Peter said, “Ananias, why has Satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit and keep back part of the price of the land for yourself?

John 8:44 You are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and the father of it.
James 4:7 Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.
Matthew 16:23 But He turned and said to Peter, “Get behind Me, Satan! You are an offense to Me, for you are not mindful of the things of God, but the things of men.”

Zechariah 3:1-2 Then he showed me Joshua the high priest standing before the Angel of the Lord, and Satan standing at his right hand to oppose him. 2 And the Lord said to Satan, “The Lord rebuke you, Satan! The Lord who has chosen Jerusalem rebuke you! Is this not a brand plucked from the fire?”

1 Peter 5: 8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. 9 Resist him, steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same sufferings are experienced by your brotherhood in the world.

Revelation 20:1 Then I saw an angel coming down from heaven, having the key to the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand. 2 He laid hold of the dragon, that serpent of old, who is the Devil and Satan, and bound him for a thousand years; 3 and he cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal on him, so that he should deceive the nations no more till the thousand years were finished.

As it says Satan has been a liar from the beginning and his goal was and is to replace God. Because of his actions in the garden man became sin. God knew already what would happen. But because of His love for mankind, He provided a way for us.

The Velveteen Rabbit

The Velveteen Rabbit

When I was much younger I worked in a Free Clinic. The Clinic did drug counseling, medical clinic once a week. and so much more.

The Karma Clinic in Everett, Wa no longer exists but it was a very big part of my life. Edna Davert the founder will always be a huge influence in my life, along with many of the other people who worked there. Dan Beliveau

This was posted on the wall when you walked in. It’s from the children’s book..

The Velveteen Rabbit

“What is real?” Asked the rabbit one day.
“Does it mean having things inside you and a stick-out handle? “Real isn’t how you are made,” said the Skin Horse.

“It’s a thing that happens to you, when a child loves you for a long, long time, not just to play with, but Really loves you, then you become real.
“Does it hurt?” Asked the rabbit.
“Sometimes”, said the Skin Horse, for he was always truthful.
“When you are Real you don’t mind being hurt.”
“Does it happen all at once, like being wound up?” he asked, or bit by bit?”
“It doesn’t happen all at once, said the Skin Horse.
“You become, it takes a long time.
That’s why it doesn’t happen to people who break easily, or have sharp edges, or have to be carefully kept.

Generally, by the time you are real, most of your hair has been loved off, and your eyes drop out and you get loose in the joints and very shabby.

But these things don’t matter at all, because once you are real, you can’t be ugly, except to people who don’t understand.”

The World of Islam

An Introduction to the World’s Second Largest Religion

Dr. David Jeremiah

In the fourteen hundred years since Muhammad founded Islam, Christianity and Islam have been at odds, but this battle remained a distant reality for Christians in the West until the World Trade Center attack in 2001. With an estimated 3.45 million Muslims living in the U.S. today, it is critical for God’s people to have a basic understanding of Islamic beliefs as we seek to share the Gospel and interpret signs of the End Times. Here is a brief overview of Islam’s basic beliefs.

Islamic Ideas About God

  • “There is no god but Allah, and Muhammad is the messenger of Allah.” —The Shahada (in English, messenger can also be translated as prophet).
  • The Christian doctrine of a Trinity is blasphemous.
  • God is distant, angry, and unknowable. His judgment can only be held back through adequate submission.
  • In Islam, Jesus was one of many prophets, but He was not the Son of God.

Islamic Ideas About Sacred Writings

  • Muslims acknowledge the Law of Moses, the Psalms of David, and the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
  • The writings of the Bible were superseded by the Qu’ran (even though the quality and comprehensibility of the Qu’ran is far inferior to the Bible from a scholastic and historical perspective).
  • Muslims claim the Bible used by Jews and Christians has been distorted. Any biblical teaching that disagrees with the Qu’ran is assumed to be inaccurate.
  • Hadith are not part of the Qu’ran but are used for its interpretation and application.

“Muslims are the fastest–growing religious group in the world. . . . If current demographic trends continue, the number of Muslims is expected to exceed the number of Christians by the end of this century.”2

The Five Pillars of Islam

  • Reciting the Shahada
  • Reciting five daily prayers
  • Giving alms (as an obligation, not charity) to help others
  • Fasting from sunrise to sunset during the month of Ramadan
  • Traveling to Mecca on a pilgrimage at least once in a lifetime
  • Note: Sunni Muslims believe jihad is the sixth pillar of Islam

Islam’s Current Impact on the World

  • Islam is the state religion of 27 countries, making it the most common state religion in the world.1
  • Islamic nations control much of the world’s petroleum supply, which generates tremendous wealth for those governments.
  • Some Muslims seek to bring the world into submission to Allah through violent means.
  • Other Muslims seek to expand Islam through peaceful means.

Turning Point’s Ministry to the Muslim World

Since 2009, Turning Point has been broadcasting in the Middle East. There are currently 22 weekly television program releases throughout the region in English, Arabic, and Farsi. More than 2,200 Your Greatest Turning Point new believer kits have been requested in Arabic and Farsi. Here is the story of one listener:

I was devastated by my father’s sudden death. I could not believe he left us, and my heart was filled with fear and depression. I later remembered that he used to watch The Kingdom SAT and enjoyed the channel’s programs. So, I decided to do the same. I began to watch your programs, especially Pastor David Jeremiah. Hope began to rise inside me and I regained my trust in God. I bought a Bible and started reading. I surrendered my life to Jesus and asked for Him to forgive me.

The Concept Of Jesus In Islam * https://youtu.be/vXn211TeVaM

67-year-old Christian Pastor was beheaded by Islamists in Bangladesh for refusing to convert to Islam August 2019

The Islamic persecution of Christians throughout the Middle East, Asia and Africa has become genocide.
In Bangladesh, a country with a Muslim majority, Christians are persecuted on a regular basis.
In the video below you can see a BBC report on the murder of a 67-year-old Christian man by radical Islamists.
The UN and Western leaders refuse to condemn these attacks to avoid damaging the image of Islam.
Why doesn’t the world seem to care when Christians die? Why is it that When Christians are murdered and persecuted en masse, no one seems to care — not even other Christians?

Judging others

Judging others

Many times I hear people say your not suppose to judge. Which is the same thing as saying that I want to do what I want, so don’t question me about my actions or behavior. It does amaze me sometimes when I hear Christians use that phrase. Because it means they are only reading part of it’s meaning.

Lets take a look at the biblical view maybe it might shed some light on the subject. Matthew 7:1-3 ” Judge not, that you be not judged. For with what judgment you judge, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured back to you. And why do you look at the speck in your brother’s eye, but do not consider the plank in your eye”.

On the surface this would seem to say not to look at anything that someone does and ever make a conclusion that they could be wrong. But, we have to try and understand that Jesus was talking about those who were critical of someone when they were doing the same things. Adultery, lying, stealing, etc. It’s like a parent telling their child not to smoke while they’re doing it

Again remember what Paul taught: “For what have I to do with judging those also who are outside? Do you not judge those who are inside? But those who are outside God judges. Therefore put away from yourselves the evil person.” 1 Corinthians 5:12-13 This has nothing to do with mans secular laws. If a person steals, etc, then man’s law will deal with him.

What Paul is saying is that those people who aren’t part of the body will be judged by the Lord. But those of us who are of the Church are to judge the actions of fellow believers. We are to help each other with correction, for the health of the church.

Remember also John 7:24 Do not judge according to appearance, but judge with righteous judgment.”

1 John 4:1 Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, for many false prophets have gone out into the world.

Yes, Jesus spent much of His ministry with the lost of the world. those who needed His message the most. but at no time did He join in their sins or make excuses for the evil. He said “go and sin no more.” If your going to make excuses and then try to tell us that is what Jesus would do, I question how much you really understand about His word. Have you made some bad choices? Don’t blame God or someone else. Get right with Him, It’s easy to shift blame, better to fix it.

Leviticus 19:17  Thou shalt not hate thy brother in thine heart: thou shalt in any wise rebuke thy neighbour, and not suffer sin upon him.:  In other words don’t hate a brother but rebuke someone to bring them into a proper relationship.

That doesn’t mean that we should run around trying to find fault with everybody, actually the opposite is true. But things like false doctrine, committing sin, etc should be confronted so that the person can be brought back to a correct relationship with Jesus.

There is a formula for doing this:

1. In love bring it to the persons attention

2. Bring someone with you to confront the person

3. Bring the matter before the church body.Of course thats only if the first two have no effect.

We can’t always sit down and speak face to face with someone. On the internet, facebook or other such pages it is the only contact we make with some people. This means that we have to understand that when someone approaches us about an issue, we should keep an open mind.

If you make a statement about your life and fellow Christians know that it doesn’t agree with what the bible teaches. We have an obligation to confront it. Some people will thank you, and yet others will become hurt or angry. Then it becomes a situation of not listening and saying something like that is just the way it is. Or that is the way my church teaches me, or anything not to be confronted by the issue.

Here’s the bottom line; If we call ourselves a Christian, then that means we have submitted ourselves to Christ. A disciple of His, is a student, because nobody starts out as a teacher. We must all be willing to learn His word and grow in it. That is where you get great teachers, and preachers like Spurgeon. But it’s also how we develop the wonderful gifts the Holy Spirit gives us.

So, please in the future realize that even though someone may not approach you the way you’d like, maybe you should think that they might be doing it out of love. Especially if you know that the bible speaks out against what your doing.  One thing you should keep in mind is that when you belong to Jesus you become a “new creature” it’s not an easy process, but the Holy Spirit lives with you and He will help you develop the gifts He gives you. You must strive to be holy, not perfect, but holy. The process will take time, but it means giving up the old ways.

“But now I have written to you not to keep company with anyone named a brother, who is sexually immoral, or covetous, or an idolater, or a reviler, or a drunkard, or and extortioner – not even to eat with such a person.” I Corinthians 5:11  I would add to this anyone who teaches a false gospel…

The formula above from the bible still holds true, but if a person refuses to repent and turn from their ways, Paul is very clear about our obligation as Christians. None of this should be done with ease or without prayer, to reject someone is very serious. Remember it’s just like a barrel of apples; if you have one rotten apple and it’s left in the barrel eventually it will corrupt the whole barrel.

The problem seems to be that nobody wants to be wrong, but look at the situation our world today has gotten into. There doesn’t seem to be a moral compass any longer, and Christians for the most part want the title, but not the responsibility. Please consider what it means when we reject His commands.

One more thing I would add to this; if a person commits a horrible thing like murder or if a person breaks a local or state law, etc it doesn’t excuse them from having to fulfill the requirements of the law. Again please understand I am not advocating that anyone assume that their superior to anyone else. Because none of us are. We have to love people because God does. And He is the final judge. God’s peace

“This worldly definition of love is not Gods definition of Agape. When the World says unconditional they are saying that there is no condition the Lord would ever set that would keep you out of Heaven, and this is a Demonic lie designed to destroy. The Lord God does Hate and even rejects many and He is Just for doing so. “Jacob have I Loved but Esau have I hated” The Worlds wishy washy idea of Love simply does not cut it. Where is your notion of unconditional love concerning the Wicked whom the Lord surely will destroy without mercy to those who have shown no mercy, folks … that is very conditional. For yet another example of Gods conditions read Matthew 6:14,15 very conditional!”  Eric DeJesus

Paul Washer “People tell me judge not lest ye be judged. I always tell them, twist not scripture lest ye be like Satan.”

Open your mouth, judge righteously, And plead the cause of the poor and needy.  Proverbs 31:9

In righteousness you shall judge your neighbor  Leviticus 19:15b

Tickled Ears

Tickled Ears

This article is a result of a conversation I had with a couple of Catholics and what scripture shows. The term Tickled Ears comes from the idea that many people don’t always want to listen to truth but what makes them feel good or are comfortable with. Please understand not man, but the Bible is the authority.

I was raised a Catholic and even went to their schools. I was taught many things about the Catholic doctrine. But, I have to say that even as a child of 6 years old I was having trouble with some of the teaching. When I read the Bible for myself, I had issues with some things I was taught. For instance the Bible says in Matthew not to call any man father because we have One Father in heaven. But the Catholic church calls their priests father.

The bible is very clear that their is one mediator between God and man. He is Jesus. A person can say that a priest will forgive your sins if you confess them to him but the fact is when Jesus died on the cross he made a way for us to go directly to the Father. If you look at Matthew 27:51, the veil was torn from top to bottom. Showing us that the separation between mankind and God was removed. You see a man cannot forgive sins,, only God can. A priest no matter what they say is just a man. No man can take God’s place in any form.

Another very important point: Exodus 20:4 “You shall not make for yourself a carved image any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth; 5 you shall not bow down to them nor serve them. For I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God * We can not kneel before a statue, etc and pray to it. Even if you call it an Icon instead and think you can bypass his Word.

The Pharisees wanted to stone Jesus because He told people their sins were forgiven and they knew that only God could do that. Although we know now He is the only one who can forgive our sin.

Some people will go to Confession and tell a priest what their sin[s] are then do a penance believing that they are forgiven. Forgiveness begins with repentance and true repentance starts with a sense of guilt, then confessing your sin[s] to God. Then turning from your sin[s]. Not continuing in it. You must have a contrite heart! If your sincere, thats the end of the conversation.

We have one Holy Father and He is in Heaven, not in the Vatican. Also I have never seen where it says to sprinkle someone for Baptism, nor anything about baptizing children. When your baptized it should be only after a person accepts Christ as their Savior. A baby can’t do that. We don’t know what age the Lord holds us accountable.

Catholics teach that Mary died a virgin, and yes she was a virgin when the Holy Spirit came upon her and then she gave birth to the Messiah. But she did not die a virgin. Matthew 1:24 Then Joseph, being aroused from sleep, did as the angel of the Lord commanded him and took to him his wife, 25 and did not know her till she had brought forth her firstborn Son. And he called His name Jesus. Matthew13:54 When He had come to His own country, He taught them in their synagogue, so that they were astonished and said, “Where did this Man get this wisdom and these mighty works? 55 Is this not the carpenter’s son? Is not His mother called Mary? And His brothers James,  Joses, Simon, and Judas? 56 And His sisters, are they not all with us? Where then did this Man get all these things?” * The nonsense about Joseph having the other children before his marriage to Mary will not work. There is no proof of that.

There are some similarities to the ancient worship of Dagon [the fish god], whom the Philistines worshiped. They called their priests Father and priestesses Sister. The priest wore hats that looked like fish heads just like the bishops of the Catholic Church do, and the coats looked like fish bodies, very similar to the coats worn by bishops today. When Constantine converted the Roman Empire they brought in some Pagan rituals to make it easier for them to accept conversion to “Christianity”.

The worship of Isis in Egypt was done because she was not only considered a Goddess, but also the Queen of Heaven. There are also other religions who had done the same thing. The Catholic church says Mary is the Mother of God and Queen of Heaven. Some say she is also considered a Co Redeemer with Christ. John 14:6 makes it very clear that Jesus is the only way! Mary was the mother of Jesus the human part, but God is not a created being. Don’t forget Jesus is the creator John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made..

There is also teaching about what Catholics call Purgatory. It is a temporary place of punishment and purification so that soul can be worthy to enter Heaven. If that were true there would be no need to repent and ask for forgiveness. And Jesus would not have had to die on the cross. Remember there is no forgiveness without the shedding of blood, Jesus is the Lamb of God. You may have heard the expression “are you saved?” Or something of this nature. The term saved means to be free from judgment. For those who are under the blood of Christ will not go to the Great White Throne judgment. So when you die you are either saved or your not.

Here is where I’m coming from. I have no enemies but those who are the enemy of my Lord and Savior. I have a heavy heart for those whom I feel are ignoring what Scripture shows us and following after man made laws, rules and customs.

I speak the truth because I know the Holy Spirit has appointed me a watchman for His word. I feel very strong about speaking out when I see people doing things like trying to revive some of the ancient Babylonian worship.

You can reject what I say, and yes it is everyone’s right to do that. But as a Christian I have an obligation to follow what His Holy Word tells me. If you are offended because I speak out I am sorry, but I have to because of His Word.

In these last days people will have to either follow Him and His true teaching or run after what tickles their ears. It’s your choice, but remember also it’s your eternity. Read the Bible starting with the New Testament and find the truth for yourself.

There is something thing I need to add if you chose to follow the RCC, I will not fight with you or anyone else about it. I am not trying to force anyone to follow what I say, you must decide for yourself. I have family members that are Catholics, we do may not agree about this subject, but that doesn’t mean we don’t love each other. This is not an attack against Catholics but my disagreement with the teaching. I also need to make it clear that being a Catholic does not mean you aren’t a Christian or saved. Only Jesus decides who is saved. But please honestly examine His word.

Psychic Messages

Psychic Messages Debunked

Have you ever seen ads for some type of Psychic or Mystic network? Seen a Psychic in person or been involved with Tarot Cards?

They would seem to have remarkable answers for questions that it wouldn’t seem possible to know. One thing the psychic does is talk in general feel good terms. There are a lot of tricks that con artists, misguided people and Demonic Spirits use. Demons know secrets humans can’t, that is why they con many people.

When you follow the Horoscope or talk to a “Psychic” you are doing exactly what the Bible says not to do. So many times people think it’s harmless or you will be given a special message from a dead relative or a “Spirit Guide”, etc.

Deuteronomy 18:10

There shall not be found among you anyone who makes his son or his daughter pass through the fire, or one who practices witchcraft, or a soothsayer, or one who interprets omens, or a sorcerer, 11 or one who conjures spells, or a medium, or a spiritist, or one who calls up the dead. 12 For all who do these things are an abomination to the Lord, and because of these abominations the Lord your God drives them out from before you. 13 You shall be blameless before the Lord your God. * Apparently the people of Canaan were guilty of such things.

Ecclesiastes 9:5

For the living know that they will die; But the dead know nothing, And they have no more reward, For the memory of them is forgotten. * This verse tells us there is no communication between the living and the dead.

Leviticus 19:31

“Do not turn to mediums or necromancers; do not seek them out, and so make yourselves unclean by them: I am the Lord your God.

It has become so easy in society to look anywhere for answers. Please understand that God loves you, but He won’t be mocked. His Word the Bible gives us the knowledge of what He expects of us, and also shows us His love.

There are special times when someone will receive a message from the Holy Spirit. But remember He will never contradict the Bible. We should always test the spirit because Satan is very good at pretending to be holy.

Sorcery

Sorcery

I think there are far to many “Christians” Making excuses for too many things.

I  have to start out by saying that there is a difference between using Pot or any other drug for medicine and using it for pleasure. There is a lot of evidence that pot has many medical uses.  And yes I understand that it grows naturally, but that isn’t even part of the issue.

Galatians 5:19

Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, 20 idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, 21 envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. Very important to know that many things can keep a person from God, not just our pet sins.

Revelation 21:8
But the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.”
This is also covered in the Old testament.

The word Sorcery is from the root word for Pharmacy

It is in reference to those who were producers of mind altering drugs are known as Sorcerers. The drugs were used in worship to false gods. Although it is now referred to as being part of witchcraft and it is in a sense. The history goes back a long way past what people do today. But some “religions” still use drugs in their religious ceremonies.

God tells us that anyone who takes too much alcohol, or anything that changes the state of a persons mind can change their relationship with Him.

If we are not in a sober state He is limited by our choice. This includes the use of Marijuana. Most people either don’t know or ignore that even though it is mild like maybe using alcohol, Marijuana alters your concept of reality. Although it can be just a little.

The meaning from the original word sorcerer. ‘sorcerers’ were persons able to prepare and dispense potions. But why did they dispense these potions? Was it in order to give relief from illness? Absolutely not! It was in order to stimulate hallucinations or visions! We must understand that it was long part of pagan religious practice to administer potions, or drugs, which would encourage hallucinations! There is, of course, a direct parallel here to modern illicit drug taking. But these original pharmacists’ were involved in the black arts and in demonology; the basic idea was that taking certain potions could bring one into contact with the spirit world, and that this was to be desired.

Much of those drugs were used in pagan idol worship, in the 60’s LSD was so powerful that a person had visions and no unlike Timothy Leary tried to tell us, LSD didn’t bring you closer to God. All it did like so many other drugs is confuse your mind and take you away from truth.

As a Christian if your going to take anything that changes your state of mind you are putting yourself at odds with God. Our relationship with Him is to be in reverence. Contrary to what some might think, you can’t be reverent if your stoned. Your mind isn’t working on the level He intended it to.

God wants all your best so you can understand His best and His true relationship with you.

Enoch
Chapter 8

1. Moreover Azazyel taught men to make swords, knives, shields, breastplates, the fabrication of mirrors, and the workmanship of bracelets and ornaments, the use of paint, the beautifying of the eyebrows, the use of stones of every valuable and select kind, and of all sorts of dyes, so that the world became altered.

2. Impiety increased; fornication multiplied; and they transgressed and corrupted all their ways.
3. Amazarak taught all the sorcerers, and dividers of roots:
4. Armers taught the solution of sorcery;
5. Barkayal taught the observers of the stars;
6. Akibeel taught signs;
7. Tamiel taught astronomy;
8. And Asaradel taught the motion of the moon.
Execrations: the act of execrating. 2. a curse or imprecation: The execrations of the prophet terrified the sinful multitude. 3. the object execrated; a thing held in …

As you can see, there is a very long history of the demonic influencing men.

Although these two articles go against societies ideas today, it’s something to think about.

Sorcery By Scott DeVries —

Scripture Reading — Isaiah 47:8-15

“Keep on, then, with your magic spells and with your many sorceries. . . . Perhaps you will succeed, perhaps you will cause terror.”
Isaiah 47:12 It may be surprising to hear that sorcery is still practiced today, not just in remote parts of the world but even in towns and cities in the Western world, and among well-educated people.

Some sources say it’s actually on the rise. Ancient Babylon was full of sorcery in Isaiah’s time. And many people credited sorcery for the rise of Babylon. But God showed Isaiah that Babylon would fall, and it did—and no amount of sorcery could save it.

Through Isaiah, the Lord mocks sorcery in this passage. It has no power over the true God. Babylon’s downfall came not from a lack of sorcery or misreading the stars. Babylon fell because all its attention to manipulating natural and supernatural forces came down to selfishness, which leads only to ruin.

Modern sorcery or witchcraft is no different. It misses the big picture. And even if it saw the big picture, it would be powerless to bring it about or stop it.Don’t fall prey to the promises of today’s sorcerers and their crafts. In the end all true good is in the hands of God.

Lord and God, protect and strengthen us with your true goodness. Though strange and powerful forces may be at work around us, help us always to trust in you. Amen.

Jesus the High Priest

Jesus the High Priest

John 20:17 Jesus said to her, “Do not cling to Me, for I have not yet ascended to My Father; but go to My brethren and say to them, ‘I am ascending to My Father and your Father, and to My God and your God.’”

There is a lot more to this than it would appear on the surface.

Muslims would argue that Jesus is just a messenger [Prophet] and He did not really die on the cross. But that He only swooned and spent the time in the grave healing, or that it was someone else like Judas that somehow the crowd was made to believe was Jesus. They say that because He said My God it means He is not God Himself. But that ignores the trinity. Which is a separate issue. One man keeps insisting that somehow the remark Jesus made about Jonah being in the belly of the fish for 3 days proves He did not really die. Although the real similarity is that it was a 3 day period for each is the only significance.

The Lord not really dying makes sense if you refuse to accept that the Lord was sacrificed [the lamb] for the sins of the world and that His sacrifice was the only acceptable payment.

In Biblical times when the blood sacrifices were being done by the priests of Israel, they did different kinds. from daily to once a year by the High Priest as an atonement for all of Israel. But on that one special day the High Priest was allowed to go into the Holy of Holies. They would tie a rope around one ankle with a bell attached. If the High Priest displeased God, he could be killed. They would know because the bell would stop making noise. Then the other priests would pull his body out by the rope. Because only the High Priest was allowed in the Holy of Holies. This does not mean that God would kill someone for no reason, the High Priest would have had to do something very seriously wrong.

The High Priest would bring in the special sacrifice once a year and present it to God. The other part of this is that if it had been touched it would not be presentable to God because it would be defiled. And they would have to do another sacrifice. If Jesus’ blood had not been shed then it means the whole argument is over. But the fact that there were many witnesses to His death and over 500 to His resurrection, that argument is without merit.

Jesus was the Lamb of God, He became the final and ultimate sacrifice for the sins of mankind. When Mary came upon Him she naturally wanted to touch Him and be comforted. But Jesus said I have not yet ascended to My Father which means He had not yet presented the blood sacrifice in the true Holy of Holies.

This shows two things. First Jesus had to have actually died and also when He said it is finished, that was the end to all arguments and all sacrifices.

The other thing not covered is the part where He is called high priest in the order of Melchizedek. Melchizedek King of Salem. There is a Salem near Scythopolis in the tribe of Ephraim, near to which John baptized (John 3:23, where it is called Salim), and Jerome mentions that some local ruins there were said to be the remains of Melchizedek’s palace. The typical value of Melehizedek’s priesthood lies not merely in his being “king of righteousness and king of peace,” but even more in his priesthood being universal, limited by no external ordinances, and attached to no particular race or people. Moreover, he is a king-priest (Psalms 110), and by taking precedence of Abram. and blessing him, and receiving from him tithes, he became the representative of a higher priesthood more than any that could spring from Abram’s loins. Jesus was not a descendant of Aaron, and thus would not qualify for the Jewish priesthood under the Law of Moses. His priesthood is so much higher. Hebrews chapter 5, and then again at the end of chapter 6, telling us that Jesus “has become a high priest forever, in the order of Melchizedek.

This does not take away from the fact that Jesus is also God. John was very clear that Jesus is also called the “Word of God” John 1:1-3. The phrase, “Word of God,” is used for both the Bible and the person of Jesus the Christ.

God Bless

Did Jesus say He was God?

Did Jesus say He was God?

Many times I have heard Muslims proclaim. Show me the verse where Jesus said I Am God. Or Jesus never claimed to be God. The problem is that many are afraid to look at the truth. But seriously I would like to see the verse where Jesus said don’t worship me, I’m just a prophet.

Exodus 3:13 Then Moses said to God, “Indeed, when I come to the children of Israel and say to them, ‘The God of your fathers has sent me to you,’ and they say to me, ‘What is His name?’ what shall I say to them?” 14 And God said to Moses, “I AM WHO I AM.” And He said, “Thus you shall say to the children of Israel, ‘I AM has sent me to you.’” 15 Moreover God said to Moses, “Thus you shall say to the children of Israel: ‘The Lord God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, has sent me to you. This is My name forever, and this is My memorial to all generations.

In the New Testament God said this. John 8:52 Then the Jews said to Him, “Now we know that You have a demon! Abraham is dead, and the prophets; and You say, ‘If anyone keeps My word he shall never taste death.’ 53 Are You greater than our father Abraham, who is dead? And the prophets are dead. Who do You make Yourself out to be?” 54 Jesus answered, “If I honor Myself, My honor is nothing. It is My Father who honors Me, of whom you say that He is your God. 55 Yet you have not known Him, but I know Him. And if I say, ‘I do not know Him,’ I shall be a liar like you; but I do know Him and keep His word. 56 Your father Abraham rejoiced to see My day, and he saw it and was glad.” 57 Then the Jews said to Him, “You are not yet fifty years old, and have You seen Abraham?”

58 Jesus said to them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, before Abraham was, I AM.”

59 Then they took up stones to throw at Him; but Jesus hid Himself and went out of the temple, going through the midst of them, and so passed by. They picked up stones to kill Him because He claimed to be God.

“Moreover, brethren, I do not want you to be unaware that all our fathers were under the cloud, all passed through the sea, all were baptized into Moses in the cloud and in the sea, all ate the same spiritual food, and all drank the same spiritual drink. For they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them, and that Rock was Christ.” 1 Corinthians 10:1-4 In the passage Paul is telling us that Christ was the one who spoke to Moses. The God of the Old Testament is Jesus in the New Testament!  God’s peace

Wikipedia
It is one of the most famous verses in the Torah. Hayah means “existed” in Hebrew; Ehyeh is the first person singular imperfect form and is usually translated in English Bibles as “I am” or “I will be” the context of Yahweh’s promising to be with his people through their future troubles. Both the literal present tense “I Am” and the future tense “I will be” have given rise to many attendant theological and mystical implications in Jewish tradition. However, in most English Bibles, in particular the King James Version, the phrase is rendered as I am that I am.

Ehyeh-Asher-Ehyeh (often contracted in English as “I AM”) is one of the Seven Names of God accorded special care by medieval Jewish tradition. The phrase is also found in other world religious literature, used to describe the Supreme Being, generally referring back to its use in Exodus. The word Ehyeh is considered by many rabbinical scholars to be a first-person derivation of the Tetragrammaton, transliterated forms such as Yahweh; instead the word is substituted with a different term, whether used to address or to refer to the God of Israel. Common substitutions for Hebrew forms are hakadosh baruch hu (“The Holy One, Blessed Be He”), Adonai
